I like to think of myself as a "small town lawyer in the 'Big City'", and pride myself on offering my clients down-to-earth, friendly, and highly personalized legal representation. I also like to think of myself as a lifelong counselor to my clients, and invite them to come to me anytime with any legal questions they may have, or if they need a trusted referral to other professionals. For a list of the type of trusted referrals I can make, please click here.
I focus my practice on the areas of estate planning (wills, etc.), probate & estate administration, and residential real estate. I am admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
I am a member of several bar associations (see sidebar). I also serve on the American Cancer Society's Planned Giving Advisory Council.
I have also been a faculty member at continuing legal education (CLE) programs on estate planning, attorney ethics, and other topics, as well as a panelist at the national LGBT bar association's 2014 annual Lavender Law Conference.
I graduated cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law. While at Seton Hall, I was awarded the Raymond Del Tufo, Jr. Constitutional Law Award and the Charles H. Revson Law Student Public Interest Fellowship. I also served on the Circuit Review journal, and volunteered at Brooklyn Family Court by assisting victims of domestic violence with legal paperwork and by supporting them in the courtroom.
Prior to embarking on a career in law, I worked for several years in the publishing world and for a number of nonprofit organizations.
When I'm not working hard for my clients, I enjoy volunteering for NY Cares, kayaking, snorkeling, and writing fiction.
